How we are keeping our customers and team safe

It's fair to say we are in pretty unprecedented times. Never has the team at Matt Johnson Prestige had to adapt so deftly and decisively in the face of ongoing challenges.

In light of the most recent government announcement, we have made some changes to our policies.

Based on the most recent Tier guidance, our showroom is now closed to the public. But worry not - we are offering a full service online and over the phone

The information below should give you the detail you need to understand how we are tackling Covid-19.

Open for business - online and over the phone

The health, safety and wellbeing of our team and everybody who visits Matt Johnson Prestige is, and always will be, at the forefront of our minds.

With a national tier system now in place, we will always act according to the guidelines. At the moment, our showroom and forecourt are closed to members of the public. But we are trading as usual otherwise.

We look forward to helping you into your dream vehicle.

Our showroom

As outlined above, our showroom is closed to customers. Don't worry - our team will still be on-site and operating in a covid-secure manner. We are able to offer a full online service from initial enquiry right through to completion of your deal. Want a virtual tour of the showroom? Just drop us a line and we'd be happy to help.

The Forecourt

Over the last few months, we have been busy sourcing and securing some fantastic vehicles. From hot hatches to luxury saloons and SUVs to prestige sports and supercars, we have something for every budget.

Alas, our forecourt is not open to the public right now, so we ask that you admire our cars from afar.

Live video tours

If you are interested in one of our cars and would like to see it in a more interactive way, we will happily arrange for a live video tour. We can do this via your preferred video conferencing technology. We normally use WhatsApp because it's simple and most people have it. Sales process

Of course, it would be our preference to meet with you face-to-face. We can't do that right now so we are offering digital meetings via the likes of Zoom or WhatsApp. Alternatively, you might just opt for a good, old fashioned phone call. Whatever is your preference, we will do everything we can to help.

If you are planning to finance your car, our lenders are set up to provide a 100% digital service - so you can carefully consider finance proposals, read the relevant information and e-sign when you are ready. Call us on 01229 486315 to discuss your finance options.

Car preparation

We understand that Covid is a concern to many people and to provide peace of mind, we have updated our already rigorous car preparation process to ensure it is Covid-secure.

Ahead of delivery, every car is thoroughly cleaned to the exacting standards of Matt Johnson Prestige.

It is then treated with our atomising machine, which sprays a fine disinfecting mist across the whole vehicle interior. The treatment in no way adversely affects the car's interior or instruments.

Car delivery

We have a team of delivery drivers on hand to bring your new vehicle from our showroom direct to your door.

Cars are usually delivered by trailer and our drivers will only enter them wearing PPE and to remove them from the trailer.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide our usual full handover service, which includes a comprehensive tutorial on the vehicle's functions, due to guidance around social distancing. But we will, of course, be on hand to answer any questions you have as you start life with your new car.

In most cases, from the point of sale, we will be able to deliver your new car within a week.

Our team

We could not survive without our amazing team - so please be assured we are doing everything we can to keep them safe.

We're a compact crew - and that means it is possible for everyone to have their own self contained working space across our workshop, valeting bay, showroom and offices.

All team members have been supplied with PPE and we have hand sanitising stations across our site.

Anybody which thinks they may have a symptom of Covid is instructed not to attend work - and given support through the testing period until they are given the all-clear.

General policies

We are a Covid-secure workplace and have carried out a full assessment of our site in line with government recommendations.

PPE is provided at the entrance to our showroom for all visitors (when open).

We operate a mandatory mask-wearing policy on-site, excepting individuals who are medically exempt.

Our cleaning regime has been increased and a new commercial cleaning company contracted.

Our site rules are clearly displayed at our main entry point.

We have subscribed to the government's track and trace scheme and clearly display a QR code at our entrance. 

We have installed perspex Covid protection screens at all desks where team members and clients may sit at the same time.

We no longer offer accompanied test drives. During lockdown periods of when the Tier system dictates, test drives will be suspended.
